Learn how to change the payment method you're using to pay for your Bocada Cloud monthly subscription.
Billing Owner Role is Required
Only users with a Billing Owner role can manage the subscription and payment for Bocada Cloud. The Billing Owner role is one that can be added to any user's account profile, in addition to their primary role (such as Super Administrator, Organization Administrator, Editor or Viewer).
Must use same email address for Azure Account & Bocada Cloud account
In order to pay for your Bocada Cloud subscription with your Azure account, you will need to use the same email address for both so they are linked (match).
If your Bocada Cloud account login / email address is different than your Azure account, you will need to create a new user in Bocada Cloud with the same email address you use for your Azure account. Give the new Bocada Cloud user the Billing Owner role so they can manage the subscription and payment. This new user will need to make the transition from using a credit card to using Azure for payment.
If you are using a credit card today and want to switch to paying with your Azure account:
- Log into Bocada Cloud and from to the left navigation menu, select Administration
- Select Your Subscription
- On the Your Subscription page, click the button that says Pay with Azure Account
- This will require you to log into your Azure account and then you will be directed to the Bocada Cloud subscription page in the Azure Marketplace.
- Click the Subscribe button
6. Select the Resource Group and Resource Location for the billing subscription. Then enter a name for the subscription such as "Bocada-Cloud" (no spaces are allowed in the name field). Once you have entered those fields, click the Review + Subscribe button.
7. Review the product + plan details, Terms of use, and click the Subscribe button.
8. Then, Azure will begin the subscription process which can take a few moments. When it's ready, click the Configure Account now button.
9. Next, you should see a migration page (screen shot below). Click the Migrate button for the payment method transition to happen. This action will automatically cancel the credit card payment method (managed by Stripe) and activate the Azure account for monthly payment.
8. The Your Subscription page will be updated. You will be able to access previous invoices generated by Stripe for the monthly payments made with your credit card. However, moving forward, you will not receive any additional invoices as all payments and payment-related information will be managed by Azure and viewable in your Azure account.
Note: if you are in the middle of your current billing cycle when you make the transition from using a credit card to Azure, a final invoice will be generated on your billing cycle end date. This invoice will include the charges generated during the month when your credit card was on file as the payment method. Charges to your Azure account for your Bocada Cloud subscription will begin immediately once the transition to Azure is complete.
