How do I subscribe and pay for Bocada Cloud?

Learn more about subscription and payment

When your free trial of Bocada Cloud is over, you will be prompted to choose a subscription plan. There are four plans to choose from - Free, Standard, Pro & Ultimate

A user with a Billing Owner role can select one of the plans and enter payment information to subscribe (if the Free subscription plan is chosen, no payment method is required).

How does the Subscription Plan work?

Bocada Cloud charges monthly for the number of protected (backed up) resources collected and monitored during the monthly payment period. Therefore, this "pay as you go" model ensures you're only paying for the protected resources you are monitoring and reporting on which can vary month to month based on your, and/or your customers', backup systems.

Payment Options

There are two automated ways to pay for your Bocada Cloud monthly subscription:

  1. Credit Card - Bocada Cloud uses Stripe, a global payments platform, for automated monthly subscription plan billing using a credit card. Each month user(s) with a Billing Owner role will be emailed a monthly payment confirmation and attached invoice. They will also be able to access all previous invoices and billing reports for each payment period inside Bocada Cloud from the Billing Report and Your Subscription > Billing Dashboard and Invoices pages.
  2. Azure Marketplace - if you have an Azure Marketplace account, you can add the monthly subscription cost for Bocada Cloud to your Azure Marketplace payment and invoice. User(s) with a Billing owner role will be able to access how much Bocada Cloud charged your Azure Marketplace account for the subscription each month inside Bocada Cloud from the Billing Report and Your Subscription > Billing Dashboard and Invoices pages.

Step-by-Step Instructions to Subscribe and Pay for Bocada Cloud

A user with a Billing Owner role starts by logging in to Bocada Cloud using their credentials. The user who initially created the Bocada Cloud account will have automatically been assigned the Super Administrator and Billing Owner roles. That user will be able to subscribe and enter payment information, or alternatively, they can add another user to the account with a Billing Owner role to handle subscription and payment tasks

If your free trial period has ended

You will see a pop-up screen asking you to select a subscription plan in order to continue using the product. Click the button of the plan you want to subscribe to:

You will be taken to a page to select whether you want to pay for your subscription with a credit card or through your Azure Marketplace account.

Credit Card: If you select Credit Card, you will be asked to enter credit card details. Once validated, the subscription will be active and monthly charges will begin.

  • Monthly payments: The day you subscribe and enter a valid credit card will be your subscription start date, and one month later will be the first payment date which will become the recurring monthly payment date. For example, if you subscribe on January 15, the first payment will occur on February 14. That first monthly payment period will be January 15 - February 14, and the next payment period will start on February 15.

Azure Marketplace: If you select Microsoft Azure, you will be asked to log into the Azure Marketplace to complete the subscription confirmation steps. Once completed, the subscription will be active.

  • Monthly payments: The day you subscribe will be your subscription start date, and one month later will be the first payment date which will become the recurring monthly payment date. However, the monthly payment period for Bocada Cloud most likely will not match your Azure Marketplace payment/invoice period. For example, if you subscribe to Bocada Cloud on January 15, the first charge to your Azure Marketplace account for the subscription will occur on February 14. However, your Azure Marketplace payment/invoice period will likely be on a different monthly schedule (such as the 1st of the month to the last day of the month) so the subscription charge will appear on the invoice based on the calculation by Azure Marketplace.

Note: If you initially created your Bocada Cloud account by subscribing through the Azure Marketplace, then when the trial is over the subscription will be active and charges will automatically start accruing.

If your free trial period is still active

In the left navigation menu, hover over Administration, and select Your Subscription. Then, click the Subscribe to Plan button.

You’ll be taken to the subscription plan comparison page. Click the button of the plan you want to subscribe to:
