What is the difference between a dashboard and a report?

A report displays a set of data in a table / grid format that you can sort, filter, and/or change criteria to view it in various ways to understand the data. For example, a report can show the cumulated results of all backup activity, including success and failures, with options to change the date range, sort by backup application vendor, filter by backups that failed, etc.

A dashboard is a visual summarization of related data items on one screen (such as graphs, charts, reports and other data elements) to serve as a ‘jumping off’ point to quickly dive deeper into a particular area of information. The Bocada Cloud dashboard was designed by Bocada experts as a collection of key pieces of information about your backup activity with links to common features and functionality to quickly give you access to the information you need.
